Built for Herriman homes

Herriman was a small farming town for most of its history. It incorporated as a city in 1999 and then became one of the fastest-growing places in Utah, so most homes here went up in the 2000s and 2010s. That means a lot of builder-grade furnaces and air conditioners installed within a few years of each other, and many of them are now at the age where parts start failing one after another.

Herriman also sits high on the southwest side of the valley, against the Oquirrh foothills. Winter inversions keep furnaces running for long stretches in January, and dry, hot summer afternoons push AC units on west-facing lots hard through July and August.

What that means for your system

  • Upstairs too hot, basement too cold. Common in two-story homes on one system, and often fixed with airflow and damper adjustments rather than new equipment.
  • Builder-grade wear parts. Capacitors, igniters and flame sensors are what we replace most on 10 to 20 year old equipment.
  • Hard water and dry air. Humidifier pads and condensate drains clog faster here, so they are worth checking at every tune-up.

Frequently asked questions

Are you really located in Herriman?

Yes. Mountain Star is based in Herriman. It is not a dispatch address for a company somewhere else.

How soon can you get to me in Herriman?

Usually within 1-2 days, and often sooner, because Herriman is home base. Comfort Club members get priority scheduling.

Why is my upstairs so much hotter than the main floor?

Heat rises, and a single system in a two-story home has to push cool air the farthest to reach the top floor. Dirty filters, closed or unbalanced dampers and too few return vents upstairs make it worse. We measure the airflow before suggesting anything bigger, like zoning or a second system.

My builder-grade AC is 15 years old and limping. Repair or replace?

At that age we quote both and show you the math. No pressure either way.
