We know West Jordan's mix of homes

West Jordan is one of the largest cities in Utah and one of the older settlements in the valley. Its east side, near the Jordan River, Redwood Road and Gardner Village, has neighborhoods from the 1960s through the 1980s, many of them ramblers and split-levels with the furnace in the basement.

Heading west past Bangerter Highway toward Mountain View Corridor, the subdivisions get newer, with most homes built from the late 1990s on. In between is Jordan Landing, the big shopping area off 7000 South. Three zip codes, several generations of HVAC equipment.

What that means for your system

  • Split-level homes. The lower level runs cold in winter and the top level hot in summer. Return air and damper settings are the first things we check.
  • Original ductwork. Leaky or undersized ducts can make a perfectly good furnace feel weak.
  • First-generation west-side systems. Builder equipment from the 2000s is now 15 to 25 years old, and it is starting to show.

Frequently asked questions

How far are you from West Jordan?

West Jordan is a short drive north of our Herriman base, with the southern and western parts of the city closest. Visits are usually available within 1-2 days.

Why is the bottom level of my split-level so cold in winter?

Warm air rises to the upper levels, and lower levels often have fewer supply vents and weak return air. Adjusting dampers, clearing returns and checking the blower speed fixes a lot of it before anyone talks about new equipment.

Should I replace the ductwork when I replace my furnace?

Not always. Many duct systems only need sealing or a better return. We inspect them on the free estimate and tell you plainly whether they will hold back a new furnace.
